Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Key Heroes
Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings (particularly 30 FPS) can breathe a sigh of relief. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations for certain heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, and are actively working on a fix.
The issue, impacting damage dealt by heroes like Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine at lower frame rates, has been confirmed by a community manager on the official Discord server. The problem appears to be linked to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, which, while intended to reduce lag, is causing discrepancies in damage calculations at lower FPS. Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are specifically mentioned as being affected, with the effects more pronounced against stationary targets.
While a precise fix date isn't available, the developers are optimistic that the upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th will address the problem. If not fully resolved at launch, the team assures players that a future update will completely rectify the 30 FPS damage bug.
Despite early concerns about hero balance, Marvel Rivals has been a significant success since its December 2025 launch, boasting an 80% player approval rating on Steam based on over 132,000 reviews. The ongoing efforts to resolve this FPS-related damage issue further demonstrate the developers' commitment to providing a positive and balanced gameplay experience.
