In Monster Hunter Wilds, Every Weapon Has Its Own Unique Design - IGN First

Concerns about weapon design similarity in Monster Hunter Rise (Wilds is likely a typo) compared to Monster Hunter: World have been addressed by Director Yuya Tokuda. While World weapons often shared a base design with variations based on monster materials, Tokuda confirmed that Rise's weapons boast unique designs.

This directly contrasts with Monster Hunter: World, where many weapon lines, even at their highest upgrade levels, retained significant visual similarities. The image below illustrates this point, showcasing the striking resemblance between certain weapon pairs in World.

In comparison, the Rise weapons shown below demonstrate distinct and individual designs.

This unique design philosophy was revealed during a discussion about Rise's starting weapons and the Hope series armor and weapons, accompanied by new concept art. Further details can be found in the accompanying interview about the Oilwell Basin and its inhabitants, including the Apex monster, Nu Udra.

Monster Hunter Rise launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 28th.
