Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Actually Help?

Author : Chloe May 19,2025

RAID: Shadow Legends is renowned for its RNG-based (random number generator) system that governs the summoning of champions. The thrill of pulling shards can quickly turn into frustration, especially when you're on a dry streak without landing a coveted Legendary champion. To mitigate this, Plarium introduced what the community refers to as the "Pity System." In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the mechanics of this system, assess its effectiveness, and explore its impact on free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System is an unspoken feature designed to enhance your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, such as Epics and Legendaries, the longer your dry spell lasts. Essentially, if you're consistently unlucky, the game boosts your odds until you finally secure a valuable pull. This mechanism aims to prevent prolonged "dry streaks" where players might go through dozens, or even hundreds, of shards without obtaining a noteworthy champion. While Plarium doesn't openly promote this system in-game, it's been substantiated through data mining, developer confirmations, and widespread player experiences.

RAID: Shadow Legends Pity System Guide

Sacred Shards

- Base Legendary chance: 6% per pull.
- Mercy kicks in: After 12 pulls without a Legendary.
- After your 12th Sacred pull without a Legendary, each subsequent pull increases your Legendary odds by 2%.

Here's how the progression works:

  • 13th pull = 8% chance
  • 14th pull = 10% chance
  • 15th pull = 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

The answer isn't straightforward. Does it help on a regular basis? Not necessarily, as numerous players have noted that the pity threshold is often so far removed that by the time they reach it, they've likely already pulled a Legendary champion. This raises the question of how the system could be improved. While the existence of a pity system is beneficial, especially in a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends, there's room for enhancement.

For free-to-play players, the constant struggle to obtain Legendary champions after extensive grinding and farming can be disheartening. Thus, the Pity System is essential. However, it could be more effective with some adjustments. For instance, reducing the pity threshold from 200 to 150 or 170 pulls could help players conserve more shards and genuinely feel the benefit of the system.

To elevate your RAID: Shadow Legends experience, consider playing on a larger screen using your PC or laptop with a keyboard and mouse through BlueStacks for smoother and more immersive gameplay.
