While Capcom's new title is breaking online records (currently ranking 6th on Steam's most-played list), players continue criticizing its rating on Valve's platform due to severe technical issues. Digital Foundry's comprehensive PC analysis confirms the game's poor optimization, revealing disappointing performance findings.
Performance Issues Across Hardware Configurations
Technical analysis uncovered multiple critical problems. Shader pre-compilation takes approximately 9 minutes on a high-end 9800X3D processor and more than 30 minutes on a Ryzen 3600. Even at "High" texture settings, visual quality appears substandard. When running on an RTX 4060 at 1440p resolution with balanced DLSS, significant frame time spikes occur. Surprisingly, even the more powerful RTX 4070 with 12GB VRAM displays shockingly poor texture quality.
Optimization Challenges
For 8GB GPUs, lowering texture quality to "Medium" helps reduce stuttering, though visual fidelity remains underwhelming. Camera movement still triggers noticeable performance spikes, though slower pans show fewer issues. Remarkably, the frame time problems persist regardless of texture settings.
Digital Foundry's Alex Battaglia identifies data streaming as the core issue, causing excessive GPU load during decompression. Budget graphics cards particularly struggle with sudden frame time surges. He strongly advises against playing on 8GB GPUs and cautions about performance even on higher-end cards like the RTX 4070.
Severe Intel GPU Performance
Intel GPUs show especially poor results - the Arc 770 barely reaches 15–20 FPS while displaying missing textures and visual artifacts. While high-end systems can somewhat mitigate these issues, smooth gameplay remains inconsistent. Currently, creating balanced settings proves nearly impossible without substantial visual compromises.
