Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's phenomenal success continues, surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks!
Warhorse Studios, the developer, celebrated this achievement on Twitter, echoing their earlier triumph when the game hit the 1 million sales mark just one day after release.
This remarkable feat underscores the game's popularity. The medieval RPG sequel, launched February 4th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, has seen extraordinary player engagement.
Warhorse Studios' parent company, Embracer Group, highlighted the game's strong performance on Steam, boasting over 250,000 peak concurrent players—a significant increase compared to the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 seven years prior. The actual peak player count is likely even higher, considering console sales, though precise figures from Sony and Microsoft remain undisclosed.
Embracer lauded Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's success, praising both player and critical reception, alongside its strong sales performance. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors attributed this success to the dedication of Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver, expressing confidence in continued strong revenue generation over the next few years. He emphasized the game's immersive quality and highlighted the planned updates and new content over the next year.
Looking ahead, Warhorse Studios has a robust post-launch roadmap. 2025 will see three expansions. Spring will bring free updates including a barbershop feature, Hardcore Mode, and horse racing. Summer introduces the first paid DLC, "Brushes with Death," featuring protagonist Henry assisting an artist with a mysterious past. Autumn delivers "Legacy of the Forge," exploring Henry's adoptive father's history. Finally, winter brings "Mysteria Ecclesia," a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
