Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously seen in FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter play sessions. With each Nightreign session lasting approximately forty minutes, there's insufficient time for players to effectively leave or read messages.
This marks a departure from FromSoftware's tradition of incorporating message-based player interaction, a feature often praised for enhancing enjoyment and community engagement. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a distinct narrative. It offers a fresh adventure with unique challenges and encounters, while preserving the atmospheric richness and complexity of the Elden Ring world.
