Bloodmoon Island, a mysterious region shrouded in deathfog, lies north of Reaper's Coast in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Its only bridge is destroyed, seemingly blocking access. Exploring this island is crucial for advancing the main plot and unlocking side quests, but the game offers little guidance on reaching it. Here's how to navigate the deathfog and reach Bloodmoon Island.
Spirit Vision Shows the Way
The destroyed bridge to Bloodmoon Island lies northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken bridge segments, some of which are precarious. Here are several ways to cross:
Gloves of Teleportation: Acquired in Act 1, these gloves allow teleportation without needing the skill, enabling you to move each party member individually.
Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat allow for teleportation, but not all companions possess them.
Teleporter Pyramids: These artifacts allow warping between pyramids. Place one pyramid in a companion's inventory, use a translocation skill to cross with that companion, then warp the rest of the party to their location.
Fast Travel: A companion with a translocation skill can reach Bloodmoon Island, discovering its waypoint; the rest of the party can then fast travel.
Take the Ferry Across the Deathfog
If Fane is in your party, his undead nature grants immunity to the deathfog. Northwest of Cloisterwood, an undead ferryman offers passage. This is a trick; it kills all but Fane. However, Fane can reach Bloodmoon Island, discover the waypoint, and allow the rest of the party to fast travel.
Taking the Ferry Without Fane in the Party
Without Fane, you'll need at least two Teleporter Pyramids:
- Unchain your party and equip a pyramid on a companion who will take the ferry.
- The companion will die on Bloodmoon Island's pier.
- With the rest of the party chained, use the second pyramid to warp to the dead companion.
- Resurrect the companion using a spell or scroll.
If Fane isn't in your party, crossing the bridge is the faster method.
Avoid attacking the ferryman; he retaliates with a deathfog spell. A quick save is recommended before attacking. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
