Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies Directed Mode. A recent update reverses a controversial alteration to zombie spawn delays, restoring them to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. This decision follows significant player feedback indicating the previous change negatively impacted gameplay and challenge completion.

The January 3rd update, introducing Directed Mode to the Citadelle des Morts map, significantly increased the time between rounds and zombie spawns after round 15. This alteration hampered kill farming and camo challenges, prompting community backlash and concerns about potential further restrictions on XP and rewards.

The January 9th patch notes confirm the reversal of the spawn delay change. Treyarch acknowledged the previous adjustment was not well-received, prioritizing a fun and rewarding Zombies experience. Alongside this reversal, the update includes several bug fixes for Citadelle des Morts Directed Mode, addressing issues with quest progression, visual effects, and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment.

Furthermore, the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received substantial buffs. Activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with the Big Game Augment) have been increased, and the cooldown timer has been reduced by 25%.

Additional bug fixes and changes are slated for the Black Ops 6 Season 2 update on January 28th. Until then, players can still pursue rewards in Citadelle des Morts before the end of Season 1 Reloaded.
