According to Remedy's latest annual report, Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now entered full production. This significant milestone indicates that the project is confidently progressing forward, much to the excitement of fans and industry observers alike.
In addition to Control 2, Remedy is actively developing two other exciting projects: FBC: Firebreak and the highly anticipated remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these games were merely in the preparation phase for production, but they have since advanced to the next stage of development. However, it's worth noting that the project Kestrel, which was in development in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from Remedy's plans. It was canceled back in May of last year.
All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has already demonstrated its prowess in games like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy titles.
In terms of budget, Control 2 is set with an estimated budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak carries a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This project will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon its launch, as well as being available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The budget details for the remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain undisclosed, but it is confirmed that they will be developed as AAA-level games. Both development and marketing for these remakes are fully funded by Rockstar Games, ensuring a high-quality experience for fans.
