Raven2 Launching Dark Fantasy MMO on Mobile

Author : Benjamin Feb 17,2026
  • Raven2 is Netmarble's upcoming dark fantasy MMORPG launching soon.
  • Immerse yourself in a brutal world with just a touch of campy charm.
  • Choose from numerous character classes and enjoy all the classic MMORPG features.

Dark fantasy has carved out its own niche, largely because it offers a mature alternative to more lighthearted, family-friendly styles. However, the market is surprisingly short on mainstream MMORPGs that truly embrace this tone. That's why Netmarble's Raven2 is such an anticipated release—it aims to be the gritty, dark answer to World of Warcraft.

Before diving in, keep in mind that you shouldn't expect the grounded realism of Game of Thrones. Despite its shadowy environments and grim character designs, Raven2 stays true to its MMORPG roots. This means you'll encounter oversized weapons and armor, as well as grand, sprawling cities and landscapes designed to match.

While it may not reach the depth of Elden Ring, the game offers enough of a brutal edge to satisfy players looking for a more substantial experience. As expected from Netmarble, there's a wide selection of classes and combat abilities to master as you carve your way through foes.

A Touch of Grit in the Grimdark

Raven2 is undoubtedly a polished production, but it does seem to struggle with a clear identity. Characters like lightly-armored sorceresses and superhuman berserkers feel more like fantasy staples than homages to Michael Moorcock or Robert E. Howard, regardless of your preferred shade of darkness.

Still, if you can overlook the marketing angle, there's a definite edginess to Raven2. Whether that edge translates into gameplay, however, remains to be seen. Keep an eye out for its release this October and decide for yourself!
