Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghostly Reconnaissance

In Phasmophobia, tackling the most elusive specters often requires employing risky yet rewarding Cursed Possessions. The Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful, albeit slightly hazardous, tool. This guide explains its function and safe usage.

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror offers a significant advantage, often outweighing its inherent risks. Its core function remains consistent across game updates: providing a panoramic view of the ghost's current favored room. This accelerated room identification allows for strategic equipment placement and preparation before the investigation becomes perilous.

Its location is predetermined for each map; however, its appearance is randomized. You'll typically find it hanging on a wall or resting on the floor.

To utilize the mirror, simply pick it up and interact with it using the designated button (mouse or controller). The reflection will reveal the ghost's preferred location. On Professional difficulty and above, remember that the ghost's location might shift after a period.

Caution is advised. Prolonged observation depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration results in shattering and triggers a Cursed Hunt at your position. Therefore, use it judiciously when your sanity is high and you're prepared to interpret the reflection.

Cursed Possessions (or "Cursed Objects") are unique, randomly spawning items in Phasmophobia. Their appearance depends on difficulty and Challenge Mode participation.

Unlike standard equipment, which provides evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at considerable risk to your character. The risk-reward ratio varies between objects, leaving the decision of usage to the players. There's no penalty for not using them. Only one spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
