Divinity: Original Sin 2 - How To Get The Ship Moving

Author : Penelope Feb 01,2025

This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.

Quick Links

The Lady Vengeance's controls are unconventional; you must discover a unique method to initiate its movement. This involves exploration, conversation with NPCs, and puzzle-solving. The ultimate goal is to access Magister Dallis' cabin and obtain the Ancient Empire Songbook.

Investigate Dead Bodies

Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and gheists on the deck. A Sodden Diary, containing a password, is found on one of the magisters. You can also obtain the password by successfully completing a skill check with the northern Stateroom door. Additionally, locate a Strange Gem; it's needed to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror nearby allows for respeccing characters.

Find the Portside Stateroom

Using the password from the diary (or skill check), access the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find a Strange Gem within his regalia. Use this gem and the password to unlock the southern Stateroom door. Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, you'll find a hidden hatch containing gheists and a Teleportation Prism.

Find the Songbook

Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, speak to Tarquin and Dallis thoroughly. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to talk to all NPCs before proceeding, as access will be limited once the ship sets sail.

Set Sail

Return to the deck and inform Malady about the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine to the west of the deck and choose the option to sing. This will initiate the ship's movement. Be prepared for a challenging battle with magisters immediately afterward. Ensure your party is adequately prepared.
