ArtClash was created to motivate artists to practice drawing, sketching, and cartooning daily.
It's currently a work in progress, with the first game complete and more on the way.
You can freely draw anything or select a topic—or a series of topics—set optional constraints like time limits, color limits, or canvas sizes, draw your piece, and earn points when others guess it correctly!
This is a solo project, built so my wife and I could practice daily—and to inspire others to do the same.
Current features:
• Paint – Sketch, paint, and blend colors
• Import images to use as references or paint over them
• Pick topics and constraints, draw your interpretation, and earn points for each correct guess
• Six levels of topic difficulty—from single words to up to five words (nouns, verbs, places, time periods)
• Choose from 3 optional constraints for bonus points: time, colors, or canvas size
• Freely draw anything and share it with the community
• NSFW flag to optionally view others’ images marked as not safe for work
Current early access issues/bugs:
• Basic UI: Building the Unity UI has been challenging. We plan to replace it with XAML for better responsiveness
• Keep canvas sizes under 1024x1024 on lower-end devices. The GPU-accelerated brush engine slows with large canvases and small brushes. We're testing alternatives and aim for major speed improvements.
Upcoming features:
• More game modes (starting with drawing "telephone")
• Expanded social features: custom avatars, comments on projects or finished games, friending, and following
• Improved UI and faster brush performance
• Marquee selection and transform tools
• More brush options—compatible with custom textures, with plans to let users create and share their own
• Enhanced layer system (currently supports layers; transparency locking, masks, etc. coming later)
• Developer feedback system: request features, report bugs, and vote on upcoming changes
• Moderator roles: community members can help review flagged content and assist with moderation
• User-submitted topics and constraints: submit ideas that go live after moderation
• Full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping in future updates
Due to current performance limitations with large textures and ongoing feature development, ArtClash is not yet a full image editing suite—but it is optimized for social competition and daily creative practice.
