Take-Two has revealed the sales of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) continues to defy expectations, selling an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone, a remarkable feat for a game released over a decade ago (September 2013). Its enduring popularity solidifies its position as one of history's best-selling video games.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), released in October 2018, also shows sustained strength, adding 3 million copies to its already substantial 70 million sales in the recent quarter.

The enduring success of GTA V is significantly boosted by GTA Online, its consistently updated multiplayer mode. Take-Two Interactive's commitment to ongoing content updates, such as the December 2024 release of "Agents of Sabotage," keeps players actively engaged.

Looking ahead, Take-Two has confirmed a fall 2025 release for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. Further additions to their lineup include Mafia: The Old Country (summer release) and Borderlands 4 (later in the year).

While concerns about potential delays for Grand Theft Auto VI are understandable, Take-Two's recent financial report reaffirmed the autumn release window. Similarly, Borderlands 4's release in 2025 has been confirmed, although specific dates remain unannounced.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Rockstar Games' meticulous development approach, suggesting that, as with previous titles like GTA V and RDR2, additional development time might be necessary, despite the fall release target.
