Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has unveiled Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for the live-service game. Released to mixed reviews in February 2024, the game saw its support conclude just under a year later, with the last patch set to go live on January 14. This final update is now accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
Despite the intriguing premise that promised to captivate superhero enthusiasts, the unexpected integration of live-service elements is believed to have contributed to the game's swift decline. Merely ten months after its launch, Rocksteady declared on December 9, 2024, that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the last chapter for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The studio confirmed that online features would continue to be supported, ensuring players can still enjoy the game with friends.
Following a brief period of server maintenance, Rocksteady has officially rolled out the concluding content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With servers now operational, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can dive into Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This update introduces an Infamy Set inspired by DC Super-Villain Libra, a range of formidable new Notorious weapons, and a climactic Mayhem mission against Brainiac. Additionally, the update includes essential bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.
Although the game's servers will continue to function post-Season 4 Episode 8, players can also engage with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League offline, thanks to the offline mode introduced in the December update for Season 4 Episode 7. This feature enables players to access all main campaign and seasonal story missions without needing an internet connection. While Rocksteady has not announced plans to shut down the servers entirely, the offline mode ensures that fans can continue to enjoy the game even if the servers are eventually taken offline.
For those who missed out on experiencing this DC anti-hero title during its brief run, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now available on PlayStation Plus. Subscribers have until February 3 to claim this contentious live-service game, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update
MEDIEVAL GENIUS
Embark on further adventures in the medieval Elseworld with Episode 8: Balance, featuring new twists on familiar locales and fresh territories to explore. Challenge yourself at The Quarry, a fortified citadel requiring a strategic siege to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a venue for jousting tournaments or interdimensional battles, while the awe-inspiring statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van celebrate an era of chivalry and honor.
LIBRA INFAMY SET
Inspired by Libra, the DC Super-Villain fixated on balance, Episode 8's Infamy Set embodies his obsession. By applying Scales of Libra to enemies, it increases both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack, fostering a high-risk, high-reward gameplay that encourages bold tactics.
NOTORIOUS WEAPONS
Complementing Libra’s Infamy Set, The Silencer’s Complete Silence weapons deliver a 200% damage bonus to enemies affected by Scales of Libra. The Alt-Fire mode of these weapons unleashes a staggering 1,000% bonus damage, creating a Silencer Zone that drastically reduces enemy damage output, ideal for crowd control while maximizing squad damage.
Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets are designed for rapid enemy elimination, with bullets that pierce through foes, apply Scales of Libra, and potentially electrify targets. Strategically align multiple enemies for devastating effects.
Chronos’ Equilibrium amplifies the glass cannon approach, boosting damage by 25% for every 1% of Shield missing, pushing players into intense, high-stakes combat scenarios.
