An Unprecedented Roster
Sega and Sonic Team are delivering a kart racing experience packed with iconic characters from the Sonic and Sega universes. While the full roster remains under wraps (though rumored to include 23 characters at launch, with more to come), the revealed lineup already features a stellar cast. Expect to see favorites like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, alongside characters from Sonic Riders, the Deadly Six, Team Dark, the Chaotix, and more familiar faces like Blaze, Silver, Cream, and Big.
CrossWorlds: Dynamic Racing Through Shifting Dimensions
Prepare for a revolutionary racing experience with the introduction of "Travel Rings." These portals transport racers to dynamic CrossWorlds in real-time, transforming the race with new environments, obstacles, and even giant monsters! Expect 24 main tracks and 15 distinct CrossWorlds, each offering a unique theme park-like atmosphere. The tracks themselves are dynamic, evolving throughout each lap, reminiscent of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
Customization, Gadgets, and Extreme Gear Return!
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers the most extensive vehicle customization yet. Players can tweak their rides with new front and rear parts, wheels, deep color customization (body, tires, cockpit, glow), and more. Add to that 23 unique power-up gadgets to fine-tune your racing style, and the return of Extreme Gear hoverboards from Sonic Riders for a boost-heavy racing experience. With 45 unique vehicles, the possibilities are endless. Sonic Creative Officer Takashi Iizuka calls it "a great culmination of all the Sonic Racing series games to date."
Closed Network Test: Get in on the Action!
A closed network test is coming to PlayStation 5! Registration is open from February 12th to 19th, 2025, with the test running from February 21st to 24th, 2025. Participants who complete a post-test survey will receive an exclusive in-game sticker and title.
