Mastering Fishing in Rune Slayer: A Comprehensive Guide
Doubt Rune Slayer isn't an MMORPG? Its fishing mechanic settles that debate. While not intuitive, fishing in Rune Slayer is achievable with this guide.
Recommended Prep Work
Screenshot by The EscapistBegin by accepting the fishing quest from Simon the Fisherman (the white-haired NPC near the Barracuda's swimming area). He requires 5 "fish" in exchange for a Tackle Box.
Crucially, you'll need a fishing rod and bait. Conveniently, Simon sells both.
Screenshot by The EscapistPurchase a Wood Fishing Rod and at least 5 Worms (10 is recommended). The bait doesn't equip; it remains in your inventory. Each successful catch consumes one Worm. Having at least 5 worms seems essential for catching fish. Place the Worms in your hotbar for easy tracking.
Catching Your "Fish"
Gif by The EscapistSelect your Wood Fishing Rod (placing it in your hotbar suffices). Hold M1 to cast your line into the water (Simon's pier is ideal).
Watch the bobber. One or two ripples signal a bite. Click M1 again to reel in your catch.
Success isn't guaranteed. You might catch nothing, or even junk (which Simon still counts towards your quest). Reel in five catches, regardless of their quality.
Screenshot by The EscapistOnce you have five catches, return to Simon to complete the quest and receive your Tackle Box. Store your remaining worms within for efficient inventory management.
