Finding Rosa's Book in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: A Crucial Side Quest
Missing side quests can lead to failure in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Rosa's Book is one such easily overlooked task. This guide details its location and importance.
Prerequisites:
Before this quest becomes available, you must complete "Via Argentum" and begin "Taking French Leave." After assisting the Ruthard family with Vavak (through either combat or diplomacy), speak with Rosa. She'll reveal a secret passage to Maleshov, crucial for rescuing Hans, and request a book from you. Inquiring about the book's identity initiates the "Rosa's Book" quest.
Important Note: This quest is only accessible during "Taking French Leave." Failing to retrieve the book before leaving with Hans results in quest failure and prevents a potential romance with Rosa.
Locating the Book:
Upon entering Maleshov, Hans is located in the tallest tower. Use the external stairs to access the tower's interior. Inside, locate a small kitchen and wait for the guards patrolling upstairs to leave.
Proceed upstairs to a room occupied by Lady Ofka. Subdue her discreetly, and collect the keys from her person, the podium, and the sword from the chest. Rosa's book is located in a window alcove to the right of the fireplace – a distinctive red volume. Grab it; your objective will update.
Additional Tip: While in this area, acquire the sword from the adjacent room's chest. This provides the two weapons needed for Hans and his unexpected guest, saving you time later.
Completing the Quest:
Unlock the door on the left of the top floor to trigger a cutscene. Following the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Guide Hans to the stables, ensuring his safe passage. Once the quest concludes, return to Kuttenberg City and deliver Rosa's book to her at Ruthard Palace.
