Early gameplay footage of EA's upcoming Battlefield game has leaked online, surfacing after a closed playtest. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch streamer, anto_merguezz, seemingly streamed footage from EA's Battlefield Labs playtest. While no clips remain on the streamer's page, recordings from the stream have circulated online, primarily via Reddit.
The leaked footage seemingly confirms the "modern" setting previously teased by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other Battlefield titles with historical or futuristic settings. The footage showcases firefights and highlights the game's destructible environments. Initial fan reaction appears positive, a welcome change after the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042's launch.Last month's official unveiling offered a glimpse into the next Battlefield installment. The announcement included the welcome return of a traditional, linear single-player campaign, addressing player frustrations from its absence in Battlefield 2042.
EA currently anticipates launching the new Battlefield game in fiscal year 2026 (April 2025 – March 2026). With the launch approaching, we can expect more official reveals soon. Given the current leak, keeping Battlefield 6 (or its eventual title) under wraps may prove increasingly challenging for EA.
