Mastering Path of Exile 2's endgame demands a well-tuned loot filter. These filters dramatically reduce screen clutter, making mapping manageable and focusing your attention on valuable items. FilterBlade, the popular filter manager from Path of Exile 1, now supports PoE 2, streamlining the process significantly. Let's explore how to use it.
How to Set Up FilterBlade Loot Filters in Path of Exile 2
- Navigate to the FilterBlade website.
- Select "PoE 2" when prompted. The default NeverSink filter will be pre-selected.
- Adjust the strictness level using the slider (explained in detail below).
- Go to the "Export to PoE" tab (top right).
- Name your filter (any name works).
- Click "Sync" or "Download" (bottom right):
- Sync: Automatically loads the filter into your PoE 2 account, updating automatically with author changes.
- Download: Downloads the filter file to your PC, allowing you to download multiple strictness levels for comparison.
- In PoE 2, go to Options -> Game.
- If you synced, select the FilterBlade filter from the Item Filter dropdown.
- If you downloaded, use the folder icon to locate your downloaded filter.
That's it! Your FilterBlade loot filter is now active.
Which Loot Filter Strictness Should You Choose?
The NeverSink FilterBlade preset offers seven strictness levels. Choosing the right level is crucial, determining what items are displayed. While customization is possible, selecting an appropriate level from the start prevents issues later.
Strictness | Effect | Best For |
---|---|---|
Soft | Highlights valuable materials and items only. | Act 1-2 |
Regular | Hides only useless items. | Act 3 |
Semi-Strict | Hides low-potential/limited-value items. | Act 4-6 |
Strict | Hides most items without high turnover. | Early Mapping (Waystones 1-6) |
Very Strict | Hides low-value rares and crafting bases. | Mid-late Mapping (Waystones 7+) |
Uber Strict | Hides almost all non-tiered rares. | Late Mapping (Waystones 14+) |
Uber Plus Strict | Hides nearly everything except high-value items. | Ultra Endgame (Waystones 15-18) |
For returning players, starting with Semi-Strict is recommended. Soft and Regular are best for fresh league starts. Hidden items can be temporarily highlighted by pressing ALT (PC). FilterBlade cleverly minimizes the size of highlighted items, improving visibility.
How to Customize FilterBlade Loot Filter in PoE 2
FilterBlade's strength lies in its easy customization without code editing. Let's explore the customization options.
Using the Customize Tab
The "Customize" tab provides granular control over individual items. Search for an item (e.g., "Divine Orb"), and you'll see customizable options for its appearance, with in-game previews available.
Changing Colors and Sounds
Customize individual items or use the "Styles" tab for filter-wide changes to text, borders, backgrounds, and sound effects. You can even add custom sounds (.mp3). Experiment freely; the "Reset" option is always available. Community-made modules offer pre-built visual and auditory customizations.
