Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is a hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase, the developer, has confirmed its absence on the original Nintendo Switch due to performance limitations. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?

Recent conversations at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu revealed promising news for Switch fans. Wu stated that NetEase is already in communication with Nintendo, actively working with development kits. A Switch 2 release is a strong possibility, contingent on achieving satisfactory performance. The original Switch's limitations prevented a quality experience, but the upgraded hardware of the Switch 2 could change that.

PlayThe Nintendo Switch 2, officially unveiled last month, promises enhanced power and capabilities compared to its predecessor. Rumored mouse-like controller functionality could significantly improve the shooter experience, potentially offering a more PC-like feel. The exact implementation remains unclear.

While a release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 is still pending, a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd. Marvel Rivals, meanwhile, is available now on other platforms and has received positive critical reception. Our 8/10 review praised the game's strong position within the hero shooter genre. The Human Torch and The Thing are slated to join the roster on February 21st.
