Where Llamas Live

Approach a llama and right-click (or use the equivalent action button on your platform). The llama will attempt to buck you off repeatedly. Persist until hearts appear above the llama, indicating a successful taming.

Step 3: Using a Lead

While llamas can't be ridden, they can be led with a lead. Attaching a lead to one llama will cause nearby tamed llamas to follow, creating a caravan.

How to Attach a Chest to a Llama

Simply use the action button on the llama while holding a chest. The chest's inventory size is random (up to 15 slots) and cannot be removed once attached. Access the chest by holding Shift and using the action button.

Caravans are formed by leading one tamed llama; others within a 10-block radius will follow (maximum 10 llamas).
