- Honor of Kings joins EWC 2025 lineup
- Tournament features 18 elite teams
- Championship match scheduled for August 16
The Esports World Cup 2025 is establishing itself as a premier mobile gaming championship. Following confirmations from PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, this summer's Riyadh event will showcase elite competitors and substantial prize money. Now, Honor of Kings enters the fray with ambitious plans.
Through a new three-year EWC partnership, the Honor of Kings World Cup returns with a $3 million prize pool and enhanced tournament structure. Running from July 15-26, the competition convenes 18 global teams, including top contenders from China's King Pro League and Asian Champions League.
The Group Stage begins with 16 teams across four double-elimination groups. Only the top team from each group advances directly to Playoffs, while second-place finishers compete in a Last Chance qualifier for two remaining spots.

Early rounds feature best-of-three matches before transitioning to best-of-five series. The format culminates in Playoffs where regional champions await their challengers. The August 16 championship will showcase a best-of-seven grand final alongside a third-place decider.
