Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals Free 4-Star Character Selector for Version 3.1

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak Hints at Free 4-Star Character Selector

A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.

This news comes as Honkai: Star Rail's 3.0 update approaches, introducing new gameplay features and characters. The game currently boasts 23 4-star characters, with varying degrees of meta relevance. While some, like Moze and Gallagher, have gained popularity, many 4-stars require significant Eidolon investment to reach their full potential. Past updates, such as Versions 2.1 and 2.7, offered free character selectors to facilitate Eidolon acquisition. The Version 3.1 leak suggests a similar event is planned.

According to leaker HomDGCat, the selector will feature Qingque (Quantum, Erudition), Pela (Ice, Nihility), Serval (Lightning, Erudition), and Asta (Fire, Harmony). Interestingly, all these characters were introduced in Version 1.0, with Asta even being an early-game acquisition. This leak aligns with prior speculation that Amphoreus's upcoming releases will focus solely on 5-star characters.

The disparity between 5-star and 4-star character releases is significant. Honkai: Star Rail currently has nearly 40 5-star characters compared to 23 4-stars. Eight more 5-star characters are anticipated with Amphoreus, with a potential addition of two more from the Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/Stay Night crossover. The 2.0 cycle only introduced four new 4-star characters (including March 7th's alternate form). If the leak proves accurate, future 4-star selectors might lack sufficient new unit options.

Despite this potential limitation, players anticipate Version 3.0's arrival, featuring the highly anticipated characters Herta and Aglaea. To aid players in preparing for these additions, Honkai: Star Rail recently released redeem codes for Stellar Jades and materials.
