Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5's Ned Luke, the voice of Michael De Santa, assures fans that the wait for GTA 6 will be worthwhile, even predicting a staggering $1.3 billion in first-day sales. Read on to discover more about what to expect from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games: An Unexpected Twist for GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Predicts $1.3 Billion First-Day Sales for GTA 6
Ned Luke, in a recent interview with Fall Damage YouTube channel, boldly predicts GTA 6 will generate a massive $1.3 billion on its first day. He highlights Rockstar Games' knack for the unexpected, ensuring the game will be a phenomenal experience.
Luke emphasizes patience, assuring fans that the game will exceed expectations. He points to GTA 5's impressive $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, suggesting GTA 6 will significantly surpass that figure. This prediction aligns with DFC Intelligence's projection of over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in revenue during the first year, including a billion from pre-orders alone.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke also offers insight into the possibility of GTA 5 characters appearing in GTA Online and potentially GTA 6. He notes that his character, Michael, hasn't featured in GTA Online since its launch, unlike Trevor and Franklin.
Luke hints at Michael's possible appearance in a speculated final GTA Online DLC or even a role in GTA 6. While Steven Ogg (Trevor in GTA 5) previously suggested Trevor's death as a "passing the torch" moment in an interview with ScreenRant (January 2025), Luke remains coy, stating, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, no official confirmation exists regarding their characters' presence in GTA 6.
GTA 6: In the Testing Phase?
Former Rockstar Games animator, Mike York, suggests GTA 6 is likely undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), York emphasized the game's unique unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't."
York believes the game is in its internal testing phase, with final touches and additions being implemented. He suggests the game is playable, and numerous internal testers have likely completed playthroughs.
Rockstar Games unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, offering no further updates since. While a Fall 2025 release was previously speculated (based on Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report), no official release date has been announced.
