Here at Droid Gamers, we receive all sorts of tech, but a projector is definitely a first. The Formovie Episode One projector caught our attention as an ideal device for streaming mobile games on a larger screen.
Positioned as an affordable alternative to typically expensive projectors, the Episode One delivers on its promise – with some caveats.
The package includes the projector itself, a remote (batteries not included), power cable, and manual. While it has decent weight, it doesn't feel as substantial as pricier models.
This actually enhances its portability – at just three pounds, it's easy to take anywhere.
The connectivity options might disappoint some, featuring just one USB-A port, one HDMI input, and an audio jack. However, this minimalist approach is expected at this price point and meets basic needs.
Performance-wise, the Episode One holds its own. With 150 ISO lumens, it's neither the brightest nor most powerful laser projector available.

Our tests revealed limitations in bright sunlight, though it performed admirably in dark environments (as expected).
Movies, TV shows, and streamed games all displayed clearly. We found a 10-foot projection distance optimal, while the audio output was passable though not exceptional.
The built-in speaker sounds rather thin, so we'd strongly recommend pairing it with external speakers when possible.
The user interface stands out as particularly well-designed. Setup and navigation prove simpler than many high-end projectors we've tested, thanks to its no-frills approach.
Overall, the Formovie Episode One makes an excellent entry-level projector. While not extraordinary in any single aspect, it's a competent all-rounder that satisfies casual users' needs.
