Dragon Quest 12 Information to Be Revealed 'Little by Little,' Series Creator Yuji Horii Says

Dragon Quest XII remains under development, with creator Yuji Horii assuring fans that updates will be shared incrementally. During a recent livestream with his radio show group, KosoKoso Hōsō Kyoku, Horii confirmed the Square Enix team is diligently working on the project.

This marks the first official update since May 2024, following announcements regarding the passing of key figures Akira Toriyama and Koichi Sugiyama. The departure of lead producer Yu Miyake to head Square Enix's mobile division was also previously noted.

Recent company restructuring and a lack of news had fueled fan concerns about the game's status. However, Horii's statement effectively confirms Dragon Quest XII is still actively in production.

The only visual currently available for Dragon Quest XII is this logo, unveiled in 2021.

Initially revealed during the franchise's 35th-anniversary festivities, Dragon Quest XII will be the first main series installment since 2017's Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

Square Enix has reported that Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake surpassed sales projections, achieving 2 million units sold.
