A new Digimon video game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, appears to have leaked via GameStop ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation.
Gematsu discovered and shared listings for this mysterious project, providing pre-order links for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While the GameStop pages lack images or gameplay details, an official announcement may be imminent.
This leak comes just hours before Sony's State of Play, a 40-minute presentation with unannounced content. Given the timing and the Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-orders, a reveal during the show seems highly likely.
The Digimon Story series boasts a long history, beginning with the original Digimon Story for Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Subsequent installments appeared on various platforms, including 2015's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, 2017's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, and the 2019 Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth titles.
These RPGs typically involve befriending and battling Digimon. While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu teased a new Story game in 2022, fans have eagerly awaited a true sequel. Games like Digimon Survive offered a stopgap, but Digimon Story: Time Stranger may finally fulfill this long-standing desire.
