Death Stranding 2 introduces an innovative feature that allows players to bypass boss fights, offering visual novel-style story snippets instead. Dive into the details of this unique gameplay mechanic and get the latest updates on the game's development.
Death Stranding 2 Development Updates
New Feature Allows Players To Clear Bosses Without Combat
In Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2), players can now clear bosses without engaging in combat, a feature designed to assist less experienced gamers. During the April 14 episode of the Koji Pro radio broadcast, DS2 Director Hideo Kojima unveiled this groundbreaking option.
Kojima detailed that players facing a game over can opt to press "continue," which will allow them to bypass the boss fight. Instead of combat, the game will present images and text descriptions of the battle, akin to a visual novel. This approach ensures that players can still experience the narrative depth of the boss encounters without the need for combat.
Death Stranding 2 Around 95% Complete
Hideo Kojima announced that DS2 is now 95% complete, likening its progress to "10 o’clock (PM)" on a 24-hour clock, indicating that only a couple of hours remain until completion.
Set to continue directly from the events of the original game, DS2 has been the subject of much anticipation. At the South by South West (SXSW) event last month, Kojima Productions and Sony shared a 10-minute trailer that not only delved into the game's storyline but also introduced new characters, sparking excitement among fans.
The trailer featured a character resembling Solid Snake, along with other intriguing story elements and new gameplay features. Additionally, the presentation highlighted DS2’s collector’s edition and pre-order bonuses.
