Cookie Run: Kingdom's Version 5.6 update, "Dark Resolution's Glorious Return," is a mixed bag of new content, bringing both exciting additions and controversial changes. This update follows Version 5.5 and introduces new Cookies, episodes, events, toppings, treasures, and more.
The Good:
The highlight is the arrival of Dragon Lord Dark Cacao Cookie, an Ancient+ Cookie with a Charge type and frontline position. His Awakened King skill unleashes devastating attacks, inflicting fatal wounds and a CRIT Resist debuff. He also synergizes with the Twin Dragons for powerful combined strikes. A special Nether-Gacha: Light of True Resolution increases the odds of acquiring him, guaranteeing him every 250 pulls, with bonus rewards for those who don't reach that milestone.
Another new addition is Peach Blossom Cookie, an Epic Support Cookie who heals the team with her Heavenly Fruit skill, providing DMG Resist and Debuff Resist buffs to allies.
World Exploration also expands with a new episode continuing Dark Cacao Cookie's saga in "Dark Resolution's Glorious Return," featuring battle stages with Yin and Yang effects.
The Bad and the Ugly:
The introduction of the Ancient+ rarity, with a maximum 6-star promotion level, has caused significant backlash. This new rarity, the eleventh in the game, has angered players, particularly as it introduces higher-rarity Cookies as separate entities instead of enhancing existing characters. The Korean community and whale guilds even threatened a boycott, leading developers to postpone the update (originally scheduled for June 20th) to reconsider the changes.
