Get ready, Avatar fans! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have officially announced a brand-new animated series: Avatar: Seven Havens.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender, creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko unveiled this exciting project. Avatar: Seven Havens will be a 26-episode, 2D animated series following a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra.

According to Nickelodeon's press release, Seven Havens unfolds in a world ravaged by a catastrophic event. A young Earthbender discovers her destiny as the Avatar, but in this perilous era, her title brands her a harbinger of destruction, not salvation. Hunted by both human and spirit foes, she and her long-lost twin embark on a quest to uncover their mysterious origins and protect the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.

DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement, stating, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”

Avatar: Seven Havens will be divided into two 13-episode seasons, Book 1 and Book 2. DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating the series with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Casting details are yet to be revealed.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also producing a feature-length animated film centered on Aang. This film, slated for a January 30, 2026 theatrical release, will follow an adult Aang on a new adventure.

The 20th-anniversary celebration extends beyond Seven Havens, encompassing a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a Roblox game.
