ARK: Survival Ascended Unveils 2-Year Roadmap

Summary

  • ARK: Survival Ascended has unveiled an updated content roadmap extending until late 2026.
  • The remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved will transition to Unreal Engine 5 and introduce new maps over the next two years.
  • The game will also feature new Fantastic Tames and community-voted free creatures in the near future.

Studio Wildcard has released an updated content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, detailing nearly two years of upcoming updates for the game. The remaster of the popular survival crafting game, ARK: Survival Evolved, was first launched in early access in late November 2023 and has since received regular content updates.

On January 11, Studio Wildcard, based in Redmond, Washington, shared a roadmap that extends until late 2026. The first update on this agenda is a technical patch that will upgrade ARK: Survival Ascended to Unreal Engine 5.5. This upgrade is expected to bring significant performance enhancements. Concurrently, the developer plans to reintroduce support for Nvidia's frame generation, which had been removed in the second half of 2024 due to engine-related issues.

The UE5 update will also continue Studio Wildcard's efforts to restructure the game's data, allowing players to download individual ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs. This selective map delivery aims to reduce the game's overall install size. In April 2025, new content including a Fantastic Tame and a free Bison creature will be introduced.

A new paid DLC map is scheduled for June 2025, with details to be revealed in the coming months, possibly early spring. August 2025 will see another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature added to the game.

In 2026, Studio Wildcard will focus on remastering ARK: Survival Evolved's Genesis expansions. Genesis: Part 1 is set for April 2026, followed by Part 2 in August, both accompanied by parts of Bob's True Tales, a new content drop announced as part of the season pass. The remastered Fjordur map will be released as a free update in December 2026. Additionally, three more Fantastic Tames will be introduced throughout 2026. While the roadmap provides a broad overview, Studio Wildcard may have additional smaller updates planned for the next two years.
