Schell Games, the developers behind Among Us 3D, in collaboration with publisher Innersloth, have set the official release date for the game. On April 16, the game's official Twitter (X) account shared the exciting news that Among Us 3D will launch on May 6, 2025.
Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to provide a more expansive experience, including cross-play multiplayer. This week, the developers introduced a new currency called Stardust, which does not expire and offers players greater flexibility in their in-game purchases.
Among Us 3D introduces a permanent Tag Mode with the new Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, a mix of new and returning mini-games, and an array of fresh cosmetics to enhance your gameplay experience.
It's important to note that Among Us 3D is distinct from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. Cross-play between these two games is not available. According to the FAQs on Schell Games' website, Among Us 3D is designed as a completely different game. The developers stated, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
Wishlist Campaign
Among Us 3D is now available for wishlisting on Steam, and Schell Games has launched a wishlist campaign called the Powered By Wishlists Challenge. By reaching certain milestones, fans can unlock a variety of in-game rewards. Here's what you can earn:
