Relic Entertainment Unveils Earth vs. Mars

Author : Camila May 03,2025

Relic Entertainment, the acclaimed developer behind Company of Heroes, is set to launch a new, smaller-scale turn-based strategy game titled Earth vs. Mars. Scheduled for release this Summer on PC via Steam, the game challenges players to defend Earth from a Martian invasion by utilizing the innovative Splice-O-Tron to create unique creature-human hybrids. Examples of these hybrids include the Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, and Cheetah-Fly, adding a whimsical twist to strategic gameplay inspired by the beloved Nintendo DS classic, Advance Wars.

According to Relic, the narrative unfolds with Martians who have been secretly visiting Earth for decades, abducting humans and animals to harvest their atomic essence. Now, they've launched a full-scale invasion, and it's up to a diverse group of commanders to lead Earth's resistance. Players will take command of Earth's military forces, battling against advanced Martian technology including saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors in a gripping fight for survival.

Earth vs. Mars offers a comprehensive gaming experience with a 30+ mission single-player campaign, online multiplayer where players can choose to fight as either Earth or Mars, a VS Mode to test your skills against the game's AI, and a map editor for custom battles.

“We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles,” stated Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell. He further elaborated on Relic's new strategy, which includes continuing to develop traditional RTS titles while also venturing into smaller Indie-style games. This approach aims to explore new sub-genres, foster creativity, and enable more frequent game releases. If you're intrigued by Earth vs. Mars, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
