In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, the thrill of the hunt goes beyond battling terrifying creatures. If you've forgotten the hint given by Samin, your journey to find the Rime Beetle will lead you to the Iceshard Cliffs region. Unlike simply setting a waypoint and letting your Seikret guide you, finding the Rime Beetle requires keen observation and a bit of luck. The good news is, once you know where to look, it becomes much easier.

The Rime Beetle is an endemic creature that rolls up balls of packed snow, making them stand out in snowy areas. Focus your search in the Iceshard Cliffs region, specifically in Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13. As you explore these snow-covered zones, keep an eye out for the beetles or the tracks they leave behind, which can lead you right to them.

Capturing the Rime Beetle involves more than just picking it up with your hands or using the Hook Slinger. To capture it, you'll need to use your Capture Net. This tool should already be part of your equipment. To equip it, hold L1/LB and scroll through your options until you reach the Capture Net. Press Square/X to select it, then aim using L2/LT.

Once the Rime Beetle is in your crosshairs and the targeting reticle turns orange, fire the net to capture the beetle. Successfully doing so will add the Rime Beetle to your collection and fulfill Samin's request. If you choose to collect it manually, you'll obtain Frost Pods, which can be used to inflict ice damage on your targets in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.

That covers everything you need to know about finding and capturing Rime Beetles in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
