Dredge\'s mobile port delayed until next year but a closed beta test is planned for December

Dredge's mobile release delayed until February 2025, but a new closed beta is now open for registration!

Fans eagerly awaiting the mobile port of Black Salt Games' Lovecraftian fishing horror, Dredge, will need to exercise a bit more patience. The release has been pushed back to February 2025. However, the delay is accompanied by some good news: Black Salt Games has opened sign-ups for a new closed beta test.

For the uninitiated, Dredge casts players as a fisherman in the unsettling town of Greater Marrow. What begins as simple fishing quickly descends into a chilling adventure filled with bizarre sea creatures, mysterious entities, and a creeping sense of dread emanating from a nearby island. The game's unique blend of fishing mechanics and Lovecraftian horror has garnered significant critical acclaim.

Interested in participating in the closed beta? Register via this Google form. The delay, while unfortunate, is understandable given the complexity of porting such a rich and detailed game to mobile devices. The additional closed beta provides a valuable opportunity for player feedback, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable mobile experience.

A worthwhile wait

Having experienced Dredge on PC, I can attest to the challenges involved in its mobile adaptation. The game's expansive world requires considerable effort to translate effectively to a mobile platform. The decision to conduct another closed beta is a smart move, allowing for further refinement based on player feedback. This excellent fusion of horror and fishing is certainly worth the wait.
