Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

Good news for RPG fans! Triangle Strategy, the critically acclaimed tactical RPG from Square Enix, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a short absence. The game's temporary delisting, lasting just a few days, has ended, allowing players to once again purchase and download this popular title.

The sudden removal from the eShop sparked speculation among fans. One likely explanation is Square Enix's recent acquisition of the publishing rights from Nintendo. This isn't the first time a Square Enix title has experienced a brief delisting; Octopath Traveler faced a similar situation last year. However, Triangle Strategy's return was significantly faster.

Triangle Strategy, lauded for its classic tactical RPG gameplay reminiscent of Fire Emblem, is a notable release for Square Enix. Its strategic unit maneuvering and emphasis on maximizing damage have resonated with players. The game's reappearance is welcome news, highlighting the ongoing strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo.

This partnership has a long history, exemplified by the Nintendo Switch exclusivity of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (before its release on other platforms) and the initial Nintendo Switch exclusive release of Dragon Quest XI. While Square Enix has broadened its release platforms over the years, starting with the original Final Fantasy on NES, it continues to release console exclusives, as seen with the PlayStation 5 exclusive Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The return of Triangle Strategy to the Nintendo Switch eShop is a positive development for both fans and the continued collaboration between Square Enix and Nintendo.
