Mastering the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Staff of Ice Upgrade
The Staff of Ice in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies is a unique Wonder Weapon; weak in its base form, but a powerhouse once upgraded. This guide details the upgrade process for the Ull's Arrow.
Prerequisites:
Before upgrading, you need the Staff of Ice itself. Obtain it from the Mystery Box or by collecting its three parts. Early access to the Dark Aether Nexus (via the Door to Nowhere) is crucial.
Upgrade Steps:
Step 1: Freezing Dark Aether Crystals
Freeze three Dark Aether Crystals rapidly using the Staff of Ice. These crystals are found in underground lanterns (black frame, purple glow). Perks like Stamin-Up and PHD Flopper (with Tribologist) significantly aid this step. Optimize your route; the most efficient path starts in the tomb area, then the Shrine of the Hierophants, and finally the Subterranean Temple entrance lantern (avoiding the lantern near Quick Revive due to distance). Successfully freezing the crystals triggers a quote from Archibald, signaling progression to the Dark Aether Nexus.
Step 2: Targeting Floating Runes
Within the Dark Aether Nexus, locate three floating rocks with glowing purple Runes. Each Rune displays a unique symbol. Shoot each Rune with the Staff of Ice (a hitmarker confirms success). This lowers the rocks, making Rune identification easier. A scoped weapon might improve accuracy. The order of shooting the rocks is irrelevant.
Step 3: The Rune Symbol Puzzle
After Step 2, a stone wall replaces a portal in the Dark Aether Nexus, leading back to a specific area on the main map. Locate this wall, which displays several Runes. Three match the symbols from the floating rocks. Shoot these three matching Runes with the Staff of Ice. The portal will open (regardless of accuracy), but only correct selections prevent a mid-air drop back into the Nexus. Multiple failures might require waiting for the next round. Correct selections place you on a floating rock with a purple orb. Interact with the orb.
Step 4: Orb Escort
After interacting with the orb, it begins moving. Aggressively kill zombies near the orb; their essence fuels its movement. Guide the orb to the central structure in the Nexus, where it creates a small purple portal. Interact with this portal to upgrade your Staff of Ice to the Ull's Arrow.
Ull's Arrow Abilities:
The Ull's Arrow boasts a powerful charged AoE attack and an alternate fire mode for reviving downed teammates, similar to its predecessors in Black Ops 2 and 3.
