Ubisoft Signals Switch Support with Upcoming Announcements

Ubisoft's Ambitious Plans for Nintendo Switch 2: A Flood of Games on the Horizon

Recent leaks suggest a significant Ubisoft presence on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the console's official release, whispers point to a launch window brimming with Ubisoft titles. This isn't surprising, given Ubisoft's long history of supporting Nintendo platforms, including past timed exclusives and collaborations.

Leaker Nate the Hate claims Ubisoft plans to launch Assassin's Creed Mirage within the Switch 2's launch window – potentially before the year's end. Further down the line, Assassin's Creed Shadows is also rumored, though not for the initial launch. The list doesn't stop there; Rainbow Six Siege, The Division, and a potential compilation of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope are also anticipated. Nate the Hate predicts "more than half a dozen" Ubisoft ports for the new console.

Potential Ubisoft Switch 2 Titles:

  • Assassin's Creed Mirage
  • Assassin's Creed Shadows
  • Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
  • Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • The Division (Series)

This isn't the first time such rumors have surfaced. A previous leak last year indicated Ubisoft's intention to bring multiple Assassin's Creed titles to the Switch 2, including Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins, alongside Mirage and Shadows.

It's important to note the Switch 2's backward compatibility, granting immediate access to a vast library of Ubisoft games, including Assassin's Creed Odyssey. However, if these rumors hold true, the Switch 2 could become a premier handheld destination for Assassin's Creed fans.

Given Ubisoft's robust support for the Wii U and the anticipated success of the Switch 2, it's highly plausible that these leaks are accurate. The Switch 2's potential market dominance makes it a strategic move for major publishers like Ubisoft to invest in the platform.
