Techland is elevating the experience of Dying Light 2 with the introduction of Tower Raid, a thrilling, roguelite-inspired mode that promises unpredictable gameplay and intense survival challenges. After thorough testing last year, this eagerly awaited mode is now a permanent fixture in the game, offering players a novel way to navigate the infected-ridden world.
In Tower Raid, players step away from Aiden Caldwell and assume the roles of one of four unique warriors: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. Each warrior represents a distinct combat archetype with their own set of abilities, fostering varied playstyles and encouraging strategic teamwork. For thrill-seekers, the mode allows players to scale down their team size or brave the tower's perils solo.
The mode features three difficulty settings—Quick, Normal, and Elite—which adjust the intensity and duration of each run. With procedurally generated levels, every tower ascent presents new challenges, from shifting floor layouts to dynamic enemy encounters, demanding players to adapt swiftly to survive.
To maintain player engagement, Techland has implemented a new progression system where each failed attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, enhancing chances of success in subsequent runs. Within the tower, players can meet Sola, a mysterious merchant who trades rare items such as the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol, rewarding those with the skill to earn them.
Even as Techland gears up for the launch of Dying Light: The Beast, they remain dedicated to enriching Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Planned updates include enhancements in co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, expanded community map integration, additional Tower Raid characters, new melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, improvements to the prologue, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
