Happy 25th Anniversary, The Sims!

A Celebration Overflowing with Events and Freebies

The Sims 25th Anniversary Celebration The Sims is marking its quarter-century milestone with a plethora of in-game goodies, a star-studded livestream showcasing the best of the Simmer community, and the triumphant comeback of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 on PC.

Kevin Gibson, The Sims Production Director, shared with Xbox Wire, "Our amazing players have shown us that no one embodies life quite like The Sims, and we wanted to celebrate this shared journey." He highlighted the game's impact across generations, touching millions of lives since its E3 debut 25 years ago. He emphasized that this success is entirely due to the unwavering support of players over the past two decades. "Every Simmer, across all the years and diverse ways of playing, is a part of this 25-year adventure, and this is our heartfelt thank you."

The Return of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2

The Sims 1 & 2 Return The biggest news? Simmers can now revisit the origins of their favorite life simulation! To commemorate the 25th anniversary, The Sims 1 and The Sims 2, complete with all their DLC, are available for purchase on Steam and the EA store, individually or as a special Birthday Bundle.

This is a momentous occasion for long-time fans, as these titles haven't been readily available for almost a decade. Even with physical copies, running them on modern systems required significant technical adjustments. EA has addressed this by releasing versions fully compatible with current hardware, fulfilling a long-awaited wish of the Simmer community.

In-Game Festivities for The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay

Sims 4 & FreePlay Events The Sims 4 players can enjoy the "Blast From The Past" event, featuring iconic clothing, furniture, and décor from earlier iterations. Over four weeks, new items will be progressively introduced, including neon inflatable chairs, a three-tiered cake, a light-up dance floor, and even retro wired phones.

Meanwhile, The Sims FreePlay Birthday Update transports players back to the series' 2000s roots with new Live Events ("The One with the Coffee Shop" and "Reality Island"), a stylish velour tracksuit, 25 days of daily gifts, and a Social Town museum showcasing The Sims' history.

A 25-Hour Livestream for 25 Years of Fun

25-Hour Livestream The anniversary celebrations kicked off with a remarkable 25-hour livestream on February 4th, featuring a diverse range of celebrities, streamers, and beloved community creators. Notable guests included Doja Cat, Latto, Trixie Mattel and Katya, Dan & Phil, Plumbella, Angelo & Lexy, Ironmouse, and many more.
