Pokémon Go rings in the New Year with Fireworks Extravaganza

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic's festivities kick off the year, paving the way for the Fidough Fetch event and Sprigatito Community Day. But before that, players can enjoy the Eggs-pedition Access pass.

Available from January 1st to 31st for $4.99, the Eggs-pedition Access pass unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon journey. This includes a significant boost to your gifting capabilities: a larger Gift storage capacity (up to 40 Gifts), increased daily Gift opening limit (up to 50 Gifts), and a higher Gift acquisition rate from PokéStops (150 Gifts).

Check out the event trailer below!

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While no new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes are introduced, the event offers some festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include a rewarding 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids feature a snowflake-capped Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), with increased Shiny encounter chances. Themed Pokémon will also appear in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.

Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and prepare for the New Year's 2025 celebration! And don't forget to check out our coverage of Night Crimson's latest update!
