Lies of P DLC and Sequel Announced: A Director's Message and a Glimpse into the Future
Lies of P director Ji-Won Choi recently treated fans to an anniversary message filled with gratitude and exciting teases. The message, a heartfelt thank you to the community, also offered a sneak peek at upcoming DLC and confirmed a sequel is in development.
Celebrating Lies of P's First Anniversary: DLC and Beyond
Choi's letter expressed deep appreciation for the game's reception, highlighting the team's dedication to creating the DLC amidst the Korean summer heat. He emphasized the team's commitment to building upon the base game's strengths while addressing previous issues. "For the DLC and the sequel, we aim to improve upon what we did well and grow in areas where we have room for improvement," Choi stated. He also extended his thanks to Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
A Snowy Outpost and a New Melody
The most significant revelation was the inclusion of new DLC concept art and music. The artwork depicts P in a snowy setting, gazing at a lighthouse—a location promising new challenges and mysteries. The accompanying "new" song, "Lisrim," composed by onoken in 2022, is already familiar to some fans, though its inclusion in the DLC's soundtrack is confirmed. NEOWIZ owns the rights to both the song and the music video, which features a clockwork-weapon wielding character rescuing a captive girl, mirroring the style of the main game.
DLC Release Date and Other NEOWIZ Projects
While a specific release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results suggest a launch in the second half of 2024. This coincides with the release of other NEOWIZ titles: The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy, Cats & Soup: Malang Town, Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe, and Project IG.
Further DLC Teasers and Sequel Confirmation
Choi previously released an eight-minute video showcasing early concept art, revealing environments such as an industrial facility and a shipwreck. While awaiting further updates, Choi assured fans that the DLC is just the beginning, hinting at the future development of a full sequel to Lies of P.
