Marvel Rivals Dev Promises a New Hero Every Month and a Half

Author : Scarlett Mar 19,2025

NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will launch every month and a half, coinciding with the release of new seasons.

Guangyun Chen, the studio's creative director, revealed this ambitious post-launch plan in an interview with Metro. He confirmed a new playable character will debut in each half-season, meaning at least one new hero every six weeks. "Every season will bring fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes," Chen explained. "We're dividing each three-month season into two halves, introducing a new hero in each. Our goal is to constantly enhance the experience and keep the community engaged."

This rapid release schedule leaves players eagerly anticipating each season's conclusion—who's next? Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls began strongly, introducing Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second half. Maintaining this momentum with consistently popular characters will be a significant challenge.

While Marvel Rivals launched with a strong roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm, countless other Marvel heroes await. Rumors suggest Blade for Season 2, and fans are hoping to see Daredevil, Deadpool, and more X-Men in the future. NetEase's approach to expanding the roster remains unclear, but the game's initial success indicates no plans for slowing down.

Season 1 also included numerous balance changes and gameplay adjustments, with more promised in future updates.
