The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on Steam on June 11, accompanied by a suite of PC-specific enhancements, as revealed by a trailer inadvertently published by Sony on the PlayStation YouTube channel. The trailer, which was quickly removed but captured by the internet, also introduced the Complete Edition of Shift Up's acclaimed PS5 action game, Stellar Blade.
The Complete Edition encompasses the base game along with all the DLC released to date, available for both PS5 and PC platforms. This announcement follows over a year after Stellar Blade's successful launch on PS5 in April 2024.
Stellar Blade on PC boasts a range of expected features tailored for the platform, including AI upscaling with Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, voiceovers in Japanese and Chinese, support for ultrawide displays, higher resolution environment textures, and DualSense compatibility for enhanced haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also unveiled a new boss battle against Mann, the Leader of the Sentinels, and introduced 25 new costumes, which are expected to be available on PS5 as well. An intriguing detail at the end of the trailer shows Eve releasing a memory stick, sparking speculation about potential new endings or additional DLC content for the game.
Stellar Blade's Complete Edition is slated for release on both PC and PS5. The game, developed by Korean studio Shift Up, was a significant success, generating $43 million in royalties in its last financial year. The developer anticipates that the PC version will surpass the sales of the PS5 version, which sold over 1 million copies within two months of its launch. Shift Up has expressed interest in expanding the franchise with another game.
In Stellar Blade, players assume the role of Eve, fighting against unknown invaders to reclaim Earth in a fast-paced action role-playing game. The title received a 7/10 score from IGN and proved to be a commercial hit, quickly selling a million copies.
"Stellar Blade excels in the key aspects of an action game, yet it is held back by uninspired characters, a lackluster narrative, and certain frustrating elements within its RPG mechanics, preventing it from reaching the heights of the genre's best," according to our review.
