Pokémon GO is celebrating its 8th Anniversary with a week-long extravaganza starting Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. and concluding Wednesday, July 3rd at 8:00 p.m. Get ready for exciting new Pokémon debuts, boosted event bonuses, and enhanced raid and trading opportunities.
Here's a glimpse of the festivities:
Prepare to encounter Pokémon in celebratory attire! Grimer and Muk will be sporting party hats, and Shiny Grimer will make a rare appearance. Plus, Meltan's shiny form returns when using the Mystery Box during the event.
Friendship levels will increase rapidly through gift opening, trading, and battling, leading to a higher chance of becoming Lucky Friends and acquiring Lucky Pokémon in trades. Spin PokéStops with Golden Lure Modules for a chance to find 8 or even 88 Gimmighoul Coins.
Throughout the week, special bonuses are in effect: Half Egg Hatch Distance (June 28th-29th), Double XP for catching Pokémon (June 30th-July 1st), and Double Stardust for catches (July 2nd-3rd).
One-star raids offer an increased chance of encountering shiny, festively-dressed Pokémon. Complete event-themed field research tasks to encounter partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip, and earn Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert.
