GTA 6: S-Tier Potential? Ranking All Rockstar Games

Author : Brooklyn May 14,2025

The excitement for the new GTA 6 trailer is palpable, and if you missed it, we've broken down all the secrets and details for you. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. In the meantime, let's take a nostalgic journey through the Rockstar games we've loved over the years and rank them for fun.

Since its inception in 1998, Rockstar has developed and released over 30 games, including iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which one reigns supreme? Note that this list focuses solely on games developed by Rockstar, excluding titles like LA Noire or Max Payne 2 which they published. I've ranked them using an IGN Tier List, based on my personal enjoyment over the years. Check out my tier list below:

Rockstar Games Tier List

Red Dead Redemption 2 easily secures the top spot in my S-tier as my all-time favorite game. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both trailblazers in the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a special fondness for Max Payne 3 with its bullet time ballet, and GTA San Andreas, which I played at a much too young age. At the bottom of the list in the D-tier, you'll find games like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, which are generally not on anyone's must-play list.

Do you disagree with my rankings? Perhaps you believe Vice City outshines GTA 4? Feel free to create your own tier list and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the IGN community.

With only two trailers released so far, where do you think GTA 6 will rank once it's fully released? Share your thoughts in the comments, and let us know why you've ranked the games the way you have.
