Genshin Impact 5.0 Update Leaks Reveal New Dendro DPS Character and Natlan Region Details
A recent Genshin Impact leak offers exciting insights into update 5.0, focusing on a new Dendro DPS character and the highly anticipated Natlan region. HoYoverse has already confirmed Natlan's introduction following Fontaine's storyline conclusion, bringing a wealth of new content: landscapes, characters, weapons, and narratives. Natlan, known as the Pyro nation and deeply intertwined with warfare, is ruled by the Pyro Archon Murata, also called the God of War.
According to leaker Uncle K, a new five-star male Dendro character wielding a Claymore will be added in update 5.0. This marks a unique combination of element and weapon type for a five-star unit. His abilities will center around the Bloom and Burning reactions. Bloom, triggered by combining Dendro and Hydro, produces explosive Dendro Cores. Burning, a simpler reaction combining Dendro and Pyro, inflicts a damage-over-time (DoT) effect.
Community Concerns about the Burning Reaction
The reliance on the Burning reaction has raised some player concerns, as it's generally considered less potent than other Dendro reactions. This contrasts with the upcoming five-star Dendro support character, Emilie (update 4.8), initially designed around Burning but subsequently buffed for greater team versatility.
While the Natlan Pyro Archon is confirmed for future release, HoYoverse may unveil more Natlan characters in the update 4.8 Special Program (around July 5th). Further leaks suggest Columbina, the Third Fatui Harbinger, will be the main antagonist of the Natlan arc. This powerful Cryo user is speculated to become playable in 2025.
