Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail's Patch 7.0 Preview: New Jobs, Graphics, and More!
With early access just around the corner, Square Enix has unveiled preliminary patch notes for Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail's version 7.0 update, offering a glimpse into the extensive changes awaiting players. The notes highlight the locations for new job quests (Viper and Pictomancer), along with numerous system overhauls within this highly anticipated expansion.
Dawntrail, the fifth expansion to the acclaimed MMORPG, marks the beginning of a new saga following Endwalker. This update also includes the game's first major graphical upgrade since A Realm Reborn, transporting players to the western continent of Tural, where a succession rite is underway to determine the next ruler. The Warrior of Light joins forces with Hrothgar Wuk Lamat, one of four candidates for the Dawnservant title. Square Enix has urged players to be mindful of story spoilers on social media.
While the main story remains shrouded in secrecy, the preliminary notes reveal exciting additions. The Arcadion raid series and Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon will arrive in future updates. A level 1 quest for a free Fantasia potion will be available in 7.0, initiated by speaking to the Medicine Merchant in Ul'dah - Steps of Thal (X:13.4, Y:9.2). Locations for Dawntrail role quests are also listed, though access requires unspecified main story progress. Viper and Pictomancer job quests begin with a Worried Weaver in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:9.3, Y:9.2) and a Cheerless Hearer in Old Gridania (X:8.0, Y:10.3), respectively.
