"Dreadmoor: New PC Game Blends Fishing with Post-Apocalyptic Mystery"

Author : Nathan Apr 23,2025

Developer Dream Dock has unveiled Dreadmoor, an exciting new first-person single-player action-adventure game, drawing inspiration from the 2023 hit Dredge. In Dreadmoor, players will take command of a fishing trawler, embarking on a thrilling journey through the post-apocalyptic Drownlands. The game, currently in development for PC, promises an immersive experience where you'll fish, explore, battle monsters, craft essential items, upgrade your boat, and unravel the mysteries that await in this flooded world.

Dream Dock describes Dreadmoor as follows: "Step behind the helm of a fishing trawler and set sail into a world transformed by a global nuclear war. Continents have vanished beneath the waves, leaving behind scattered islands and the submerged ruins of ancient civilizations. Your survival hinges on selling your catch to fellow survivors, completing quests, and navigating the unpredictable dangers of the Drownlands. Be vigilant—creatures within your ship’s cargo hold may devour one another! Enhance your vessel and craft equipment to delve into the hidden depths and secret locations. Beware of the mutated creatures and sinister mysteries lurking in the deep waters and abandoned structures, particularly at night. Radiation poses an ever-present threat in this perilous environment…"

In Dreadmoor, players will have the opportunity to catch over 100 species of fish, with the most challenging catches requiring the most unusual bait but offering the highest rewards. The game encourages exploration both above and below the water's surface, as you scavenge for resources and uncover secrets. If Dreadmoor piques your interest, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
